Lisa and I, we both are such beach bums. Surfing, kayaking, swimming, diving — we love it all! In fact, that’s what made us connect. Every holiday of ours revolves around sun, sand and the sea. But, this time, when we were planning our trip to India, we stumbled upon Athirapally. We were so stoked by the waterfall that we planned to stay around it for a couple of days.

What are the chances, that a place gives you access to a waterfall, from every nook and corner? It might sound funny, but we were super excited when we discovered that even our bathroom had a waterfall view. :P

Later, in the evening, we headed to the pool, that opened up to the waterfall. And, trust me, it’s was no less than therapy. That greenery, that milky white, foaming, magnanimous wall of water, and that constant buzzing of the water crashing down on the rocks. We just did not want to get out.

While we were at the dinner table, being served food, Gokul mentioned about the other two waterfalls. Next morning, we picked up the cycles and went trailing around river streams, lakes and more waterfalls — our new found love.

Surprisingly, we didn’t miss salt water or the sand, and it’s quite a big deal for us. The white noise of the crashing waterfall is as tranquillising as the crashing waves. We are still in awe of the place, and looking forward to discover more such beautiful water bodies.
